Paddepoel - Mamio 5-0

There is a party atmosphere: the spring has finally arrived and tomorrow is the Queen’s day. It is a perfect day for a nice football match. The tensions of the previous match between Mamio and Paddepoel seem to melt under a very warming sun.

Alessio the northern 6: this guy knows what braveness means. He does not stop putting 100% effort for the Mamio mission. Even without gloves, he keeps resisting also in such a difficult day. No particular faults in any of the 5 goals.

Chao 6: being a defender today is not an easy job. Moreover, on that side, Paddepoel has the most talented players. However, he keeps fighting and running and at the end of the match he leaves the field with honor. Only a little mistake in the occasion of the second goal.

Folke 6.5: Mamio express a warm welcome to the exordium of this great player. He combines a perfect physical condition with a natural technique. In a pair of occasions, on high balls he anticipates his opponents so cleanly that reminded us the best Fabio Cannavaro.

Marcel 6: he represents the last bulwark of Mamio. He has to play the ungrateful task of being the last man of the defense. All Mamio players know that and highly appreciate all his sacrifices.

Florian 6: he enters the field with a little injury but nobody noticed it because his performance was strong and valorous.

Rosty 6: on his side, the Paddepoel left wing defender gives him a lot of pressure. He immediately responds interpreting the defensive phase perfectly. On he other hand, just too a few balls in order to judge the offensive phase. It is a pity that he doesn’t have any luck in one of the few attacks of Mamio: his shoot goes out.

Arnout 5.5: too weak performance in a day where the midfields had to run the double of normal. Nevertheless he tried his famous penetrations a coupe of times.

Alessio the southern 5.5: good fighting and good running till the end but that is not enough. Everybody expects more efficiency from him.

Roberto 6: a double thank to this guy that has recently joined Mamio. Mamio needs players like this. He runs and fights since the beginning until the end. The bookmakers say that his first goal will arrive within the next two matches.

Filippo 5.5: he substitutes Roberto in the second half. At the beginning, he thinks he is the third forwards but after ten minutes he accommodates his position 15 meters below and he also becomes a bit dangerous when he comes on that left wing.

Kosta 5.5: his fighting is improving but today he needed to be brighter. Too many mistakes in passing and he misses an easy goal being alone against the goal keeper.

Rink 5.5: unfortunately he receives just a couple of balls and those balls are difficult. His contribution remains too weak. He may consider switching his favorite position to the right or left wing where he would touch more balls and show his good technique.

Diego 6: he needs ten minutes to understand that this is not a friendly match. After couple of sloppy mistakes, he comes back with a nice performance. He is definitely the most dangerous of the Mamio guys. In the dressing room he also receives the compliments of the official referee.

Referee 6: his performance may deserve a 8. In the entire match he only commits a single mistake when he does not see a “pushing while jumping” of a Paddepoel forward that generates the third goal. However, at the end of the match it happens the following: Alessio the southern makes a “cañito” to a Paddepoel midfield (that one with mustaches). After a minute Alessio the southern again stills a ball to him. Badly pissed, the mustache guy comes back to Alessio the southern and, on purpose, he kicks him strongly on the ankles. The referee saw everything but he limits himself to a simple free kick. At the end of the match Alessio the southern friendly talked to the referee which explained that in this low level league they are not used to use cards. Why not??? To our opinion this is a strong limitation of our league.

Amboina - Mamio 1-4

Emergency: the match is at 14.00 and at 12.30 Mamio has only 10 players. Kosta is calling the players, the mothers of the players, the fathers of the players and he asks also people on the road to play with Mamio. Fortunately Pablo and Dan inform their presence at the last moment. Pablo joins the Italian car and Dan arrives in Assen by bus and by rollers. Odd: they will be the men of the match. At 13.45 Mamio is ready. Wonderful day, the field is terrible but Mamio is used to it.

Alessio the northern 7: he flies to catch a ball that is going right behind the bar. Always sure in any clearance. In two situations he seems to have a soup into the clothes but nothing bad happens. No fault in the occasion of the single goal of Amboina.

Florian 7: he could not start better. He needs only 5 minutes to understand and learn everything. His strength and his running capabilities are impressive. He really misses only a couple of balls in the entire match.

Daniele 7.5: his style and his vision are natural gifts. When he comes out of the defense with the ball in between his feet, Amboina’s players realize that today they have no chances. The free kicks are the only false note of the day.

Marcel 7.5: he is the master of the defense today. Always sure on any ball and no risk at all. He knows what efficiency means. He also shows an appreciable physical condition that allows him to help the team also in the front. Insuperable.

Chen 7: the capacity of this player to learn, to improve and to adapt to different situations is impressive. Today he becomes the nightmare on his direct opponent that has no other choice than changing side. The point is that on the other side he finds Florian…

Filippo 7: his wonderful goal closes the match. Nobody knows but his left foot might have had a great past. If he improves his physical condition, he becomes a player that can score more than 15 goals per season.

Pablo 7.5: it is 14.00, the match starts. It is 14.01, Pablo has already showed which kind of player he is. Wonderful goal with a shot from outside the box. In the first half he wins all duels. Today, with Dan, he is the man of the match.

Alessio the southern 6: elegant sombrero and great assist in the middle of the area where Filippo does not fail. In the second half he plays too selfishly. Somebody should remind him that soccer is not a sport where you can use your hands.

Rosty 6.5: he shows that the right mid position is his position and nobody can take it away from him. Always punctual in both the offensive and defensive phase. However, he never tries long shots and he still has to learn the throw in.

Kosta 7: it is a difficult match for him today because Amboina plays with a very high offside line. But in the second half he understands the match, he comes to play with the midfields and he gives a great pass to Dan. His teammates do not know what he is doing during the week but they notice again improvements in his physical condition.

Rink 6.5: today he is the manager of the team and he does this extra job perfectly. No many balls for him when he plays as forward. But in the second half he plays as right midfield and there he plays with great confidence. At the 30th minute of the second half, being 35 meters away from the goal, he shoots a real bomb: the ball touches the bar, then the goalkeeper and then the post. This is the best technical gesture of the match.

Dan 7.5: Amboina plays with a high defense line. This is a suicide when playing against the speed of this great player. Two goals for him today. When Mamio needs help, he responds! With Pablo, he is the man of the match.



Referee 6: Nice performance. A low level league like this one needs more referees like him because he whistles every single touch and this prevents many injuries. However, he acts like a sergeant and, being the Netherlands a royal democracy, this is not good. Maybe he should also learn what a passive offside is.

Diego 3: Soccer is about technical skills and mentality. Everybody knows his technical skills, but nobody would ever understand his Buddhist mentality!

Mamio - Groengeel 4-2

It is a hot summer day with 25 degree Celsius. The conditions of the field are quite difficult, its bottom is hard and it is pretty sandy. After conceiving a very strange goal with three incredible mistakes in a row, the reactions of the Mamio guys is impressive. They immediately draw (Kosta) and score three more goals in the last 15 minutes of the first half: Arnout, Elmer and Alessio (penalty). The second half is just simple administration.

Dan: 5.5. He has cold blood that makes him very confident. Ready on all actions but he commits two errors, one for each half. Those cause both goals of Groengeel.

Fabrizio: 7. Wonderful performance. He maintains his position on the right side with great wisdom. In the middle of the second half he performs a sliding saving a sure goal. In that occasion he reminds us to Franco Baresi. Only a single mistake in the occasion of the first goal of Groengeel.

Elmer: 7.5. He is the master of the defense. Nobody can remember even a single mistake. He celebrates the upcoming summer with a wonderful goal: left foot shot that after a perfect lob trajectory ends just behind the bar.

Marcel: 7. He is the symbol of Mamio’s defense. He is elegant and sure on all high balls. In the second half, closing on the left side, he realizes a “sombrero” like only Ronaldiño can do.

Bas: 7. His left foot is a present from the heaven. Unfortunately he has to leave the field for a little injury. He comes back in the second half and accomplishes everything perfectly.

Chao: 6.5. What a great pushing on the left side. He runs like Sandokan. Only a single mistake in the occasion of the first goal of Groengeel.

Rosty: 6.5. Great first haft, both in attacking and in defending. In the second half he decides to become a forward.

Arnout: 7. Great quantity in the middle of the field as usual. The captain makes an important goal in his own manner: wonderful penetration in the area and conclusion on the first post.

Alessio: 6. He does his job maintaining the ball possession. Great 30 meters pass to Kosta in the first half and an easy penalty (the goalkeeper moves too soon and he chooses the other side). He hides himself a bit too much in the second half.

Patrick: 6.5. Nobody can discuss his talent and he shows it today as well. Massive running for the entire match. Maybe he insists too much in penetrating on the left side without placing an eye on the center.

Kosta: 6.5. Great goal with a strong shoot with his powerful right foot. Very important because makes Mamio drawing immediately after conceiving the first goal. In the second half he is offside and does not allow Rosty to go alone against the goalkeeper. Everybody noticed some improvements on his physical condition.

Rink: 6. He does his job making the right movements at the right times. He is always ready when the team needs him. However, he still has to work on his fighting.

Diego: 8. He plays a football that belongs to another level. His dribbling designs an unpredictable trajectory on the field and causes headache in the minds of the Groengeel defenders. Major parts of the first goal, of second goal and of the penalty are due to him. Unstoppable!

Toontje: 6.5. He is the master of the match. In the first half he lets playing a bit too much but in the second half he is faultless. When a Groengeel defender almost kills Diego with a kamikaze obstruction he answers: “Just a lot of noise”. In the second half he gets a bit tired and he decides that the players can have a shower just after 35 minutes.

Groengeel team: 5.5. Tough team but with low qualities. It is not enough to beat this great Mamio!

Mamio 1 - Amicitia 5 2-3

Last sunday featured an important match for Mamio: a home game against Amicitia 5, a direct competitor in the league. The away game ended in a 3-2 loss for the Mamiosi, with a late equaliser disallowed for dubious reasons. We had something to make up for, and Mamio started well in the first half. Some sloppy Amicitia defending and goalkeeping led to an early 2-0 lead for Mamio, with goals by Kosta and Patrick (?). Although Amicitia pushed forward after that, Mamio looked well organised in the first half and seemed to be fully in control. However, a very poor second half display followed. Amicitia scored a quick goal, but the ref decided to disallow it. Nevertheless, disaster struck soon after that, as a poor attitude and organization were punished three times within a period of fifteen minutes or so. After the 2-3 fell, Mamio went forward to force an equaliser, but we never really came close to scoring. All in all, a poor second half and a bad result that ends any thoughts of challenging for the championship in the remaining games. Hopefully, we can improve again in the upcoming games.
